Fibre Blends Used in Carpeting

Natural fibres such as wool can be blended with a percentage of synthetic fibre such as polypropylene or nylon. In this way, the combined fibre contains the properties from various fibres.

The most common blends are:

  • 80% Wool and 20% Nylon
  • 80% Wool, 10% Nylon and 10% Tuftbond
  • 50% Wool, 40% Polypropylene, 10% Tuftbond

Changing the quantities of the blends means that there is a carpet fibre that is suitable for throughout your home.
