Tufting

The first step in the manufacturing of carpet. Tufting begins with the process of weaving the synthetic or staple fibre into a primary backing material. Tufting is a less time-consuming (and therefore less costly) process than weaving, but it does mean the construction of the carpet isn't as solid.
