Pilling

A condition of the carpet face (which may occur from heavy traffic) in which fibres from different tufts become entangled with one another, to form small balls of loose unsightly material. Pills may be cut off with scissors. If the pills are large, however, it may be a good idea to call in a professional carpet cleaner, retailer, or installer to resolve the problem.
