Felt Back

A type of secondary backing used for a huge proportion of tufted carpets, which has largely replaced the foam or rubber backed carpets of the 20th century. Felt backing is very versatile as it can be fitted directly to the floor, loose laid or secured with perimeter adhesive, or onto underlay and gripper.
