Cut Loop Pile

A carpet fabric in which the face is composed of cut ends of pile yarn. The length of these cut pieces of yarn is referred to as the pile height, and is basically the distance between the looper and the primary backing.

Still one of today's most popular constructions, the durability of a cut-loop carpet is achieved with factors including the type of fibre, density of tufts, and the amount of twist in the yarn.
